Lydia Martin Cömert (born 1950 in Trier, Germany), studied chemical engineering at the Technical University of Aachen (Germany) and while studying, by her interest in art, took a four-semester course in art history. After her marriage, she and her Turkish husband moved to Mersin in southern Turkey. In 1986, she founded "Lida Moda Evi (Fashion Atelier)," which she later in 1994, transformed into the painting studio "LMC-Art Atelier". She took various art courses; including a two-year online interior design course at the ILS Hamburg and a summer course at the European Art Academy Trier. She also attended different art courses offered by the Mersin Chamber of Industry and Commerce. There, she also held solo and group exhibitions. In addition to 18 solo exhibitions, she participated in numerous group exhibitions at home and abroad. Today, she lives in Istanbul.
